Bunny Wailer Wasnt The Shit In The Wailers - SNOOP LION

Snoop Lion, previously known as Snoop Dogg, has been quiet for the most part about Bunny Wailers scathing remarks about his transformation from a gangster rapper to a Rastafarian.

Earlier this year Bunny Wailer issued a 7-page letter to the rapper turned reggae singer chastising and accused him of fraudulently using Rastafarian culture for profits.

Since then several prominent figure in reggae including the Marley family and Sean Paul has defended Snoop Lion from the attack from Bunny Wailer.

During an interview with Rolling Stone, Snoop Lion lash out at Bunny Wailer over his negative remarks about the rap legend.

Here are the excerpt from Snoop’s Rolling Stone interview:

In the film, you and Bunny Wailer seem to get along well. Why has there been this dispute? 

I couldn’t tell you. To me, it’s a miscommunication, and I’m not gonna speak nothing negative because I love him too much. Any relationship, you gotta be able to disagree. The last time I seen him, it was all love, but when I heard the negative remarks, I paid no attention. If I’m gonna be Rasta incorporated, loving energy is the only way I can match his negative energy.

Would it be meaningful for you to have a conversation directly with him?

I mean, it would be meaningful for him to talk to me. He’s the one supposedly putting out the negative energy. I coulda said, “F–k that n***a. Bi–h-ass n***a.” I’m still a gangsta – don’t get it f–ked up. I’m growing to a man, so as a man, do I wanna revert back to my old ways and f–k this n***a up, or move forward, shine with the light? It’s nothing. I’ve been hit before.


One of the things he accuses you of is not honoring contractual commitments. What’s he referring to? 
It can’t be nothing because he’s not on my record. What could it be? To me, a lot of these guys from back in the days have been done wrong, and they think younger artists owe them, because we’ve been paid and treated right. It’s not my fault if you haven’t been paid. I just met you. I’ve done nothing but put you in a place where the world knows who you are. They heard who you are, now they know who you are. I’ve given you a platform to speak and make money. My conversation with Bunny was about how he was done, not how I’m gonna do him. I can’t fix what people have done with you in the past, but I’m gonna put you in the movie – he signed off on it – put you on the album. It was too much negative energy so I said I don’t even want him on the record.

By negative energy, do you mean his public statements or something else?
He’s speaking and the album isn’t out. That gave me fair warning to get this motherf—er off my shit. I have no insight what turned him. The people I visited at the Nyabinghi Temple aren’t speaking negative on me. They’re real Rastas. I went in there and filmed them, showed their whole get-down. Nobody did that before. If anyone, they should have complained – “He exploited us!” Why aren’t they saying that? To me, they have the most gripe to make. How did I exploit Bunny? I gave you a chance to be in my movie. My movie gonna be the shit with or without you. I’m gonna be the shit with or without you. I’m Snoop Dogg. Relevant right now.

It’s like, people take my kindness for weakness. In the Nineties, he could have never tried that because I’d have slapped the dog shit out of his old a$$. How dare you? After all I’ve done for you? How dare you? You wasn’t the shit in the Wailers. You was just one of them: Bob, Peter Tosh, then you. They dead mean more than you do alive. You get the energy? When it should have been, ‘Hey, this brother is putting me back in the light; I could possibly get on the road with him, be on his album, eat again. Let me get in line. This is Snoop Dogg; he’s already a star.’ It should have been, play along with me as opposed to stick me up. I’m gonna give you what you worth, but you not gonna stick me up.



So he wanted more money to be on the album than you were willing to pay? 

The reason for him not being on the album is I started hearing negative energy and rather than have him be a part of it, I kept him in the movie to show his positivity against his negativity. Here this comes out of left field to make me go back, be the old ignorant-a$$ n***a. To me, it’s a test, to see if I’m really made for this. Who else would it come from to make this amount of noise? But guess who stood up in my defense? Rohan, Rita, Stephen, Damian Marley. Rohan went public. He called him Phony Wailer, or whatever he called him. I can’t call him that; I don’t know him like that. Cliftwang Faces RAPE Charges

Aaaahhh Bwoyyy suh ONE TIME YouTube sensation and Deejay Clifton "Cliff-Twang" Brown is now facing his most serious legal battle yet after his wife of five years has accused him of rape.

The man who coined the famous term, Nobody Canna Cross It during a TVJ interview in the spring of 2011, was back in court on Tuesday after his wife alleged that he forced her to have sex twice. As a result, a protection order filed against Brown was violated.

Brown has vehemently denied the allegations, saying he was surprised by his wife's claims and telling the court, "Both of us sleep in one bed, in one room. We had sex twice, so I don't know how she say I rape her!"

This is the third time in three months that Brown has appeared in court to face charges. In January, the internet star was jailed for allegedly failing to pay child support. A month earlier, he was alleged to have bounced cheques at a Kingston gas station as he tried to purchase gas, amongst other items.

Its highly doubted that Cliftwang will be able to cross this one as Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey denied Brown's bail request, claiming he was a danger to his wife. After reading excerpt from a police report on the matter, she said, "The police are opposing bail and I agree with them, the file says you are aggressive and violent. I cannot send you back to that house."

It look like Cliftwang didnt make the most of his short lived career as he was forced to represent himself in court as he said he could not afford a lawyer.  He has since been allowed interviews for possible legal aid and will return to court on April 23 to answer the rape charge.

So according to Khago Skatta Burrell was the one who boost him last year to diss dancehall vetaran Sizzla Kalonji.

Khago Demands An APOLOGY From Skatta Burrell

Reggae/dancehall artiste Khago is demanding an apology from Skatta Burrell. The deejay is upset that Skatta , who is a judge on the Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall show, has been using that platform to hurl personal insults at him and disrespect his brand and his music.

“How can Skatta, who mi have so much respect for as a producer, go on national TV and bruk mi CD on a dancehall competition that is supposed to be building up artistes, and teaching them respect and integrity for the music?”“How him even think about doing that? And how the sponsors and TVJ fi even condone him doing that? Him should apologise to the fans, him not even have to apologise to me, for dragging himself and the industry down like that. Him nuffi do dem tings deh, the whole ah Jamaica lose offa him, him coulda choose another forum or platform to work out his issues with me,” Khago said in a statement.

Khago believes that he is on a positive path, even though he is walking away from the deep pockets and vast resources of Josef Bogdanovich, CEO of Downsound Records.

“The way dem deal wid it, anno so poor people buss, with management ah show off pon people. With them, it’s all about money, mi caan get fi perform fi poor people again if dem no have all the money, and that is not how my career build. Right now, mi ah walk away from them and all them money and reclaim my soul and love for music,” Khago said.

He said that since leaving Downsound, he has rediscovered the pure joy of just doing music for the sheer love of it.

“Before, it seemed like mi lost mi way, mi lost touch with poor people, nuff charity show weh mi miss fi poor people, mi can do dem again. Mi find say mi a hold a better meds, and nuff producers start send back dem riddim, other promoters start book back show fi me weh did tink say mi rich already, and never need them.

“Being at Downsound is a paradox, it seem like ah the right ting because dem have money fi promote but ask yuself why nobody nah buss round deh since Fantan Mojah leave. The fans know dem music, dem recognise dem, but the music nah no soul inna it, so the fans dem nah feel it. So right now, mi a leave Downsound without any animosity, ah just music mi a focus pon right now. Mi just respect wah dem a do, and mi move on,” Khago said.

When contacted by THE WEEKEND STAR, Skatta said that he has no reason to apologise.

“Khago is no longer a member of Downsound Records (DSR) so I have no issues with him. I have nothing to apologise for. I would also like to take this opportunity to big up the fans for their support and big up the sponsors. Thanks for making this show the number one show on TV. Big up DSR also,” Skatta said..Khago went on to say that Skatta’s actions have caused Jamaica to lose respect for him.

After my relaxing trip back home to JA and all, one thing is for sure my home town label Push A Yute is doing the damn thing! And their recent production work with Supa Hype of 007 says it all.

Supa Hype isnt the only local DJ who has been working closely with the Push a Yute camp, Munga Hounarable has also been recording his new single "Charge"  on the "Charge Riddim" produced by Vivian Thomas (Push a Yute Producer) and Neutron (Vivian Cousin/Artist/Producer) and for those who said "Dancehall Dead" this single shows that Dancehall is still going STRONG and it is set to be a sure DANCEHALL ANTHEM!

 Munga is one of two artist to be featured on the Charge Riddim, Up and coming artist/ Producer Neutron delivers the 2nd single on the riddim called "Nothing Filthy" a conscious single encouraging the yutes of Jamaica not to indulge in acts of filthiness to have access to any form of assets. NO NASTINESS  NO LOSE BALL ... NEUTRON SAYS IT ALL! Charge riddim is out now and is set to be released on iTunes next week.

Another Local Lable DITCHED - Khago leaves Downsound

Khago has ditched another local record label. According to the artiste, the CEO of Downsound Records Joe Bogdanovich made him promises that he did not fulfill.

However Skatta Burrell, says Khago is the problem and that the artiste is ungrateful. Skatta also said Khago is bounded by his Downsound contract, therefore he should be careful not to break the law.

Khago, however, revealed that the contract did not own him. He also said that Skatta is nothing but a clown.
"Mi nuh know wha Skatta a talk bout cause him a Downsound clown. Him a look a hype. I decided to leave DSR because of my personal issues. I don't have a management deal with them because I am still signed to someone else. I have a booking agent agreement deal with DSR," Khago continued.

"Joe tell mi sey he will act as a manager and him will do tings like give me one music video every three months, maintain my visibility on TV, produce band for me, gimme a stylist and more tings. Unuh see me inna designer clothes? A nine tings him promise and mi nuh see dem yet," Khago said.

The artiste further jabbed at Skatta Burrell stating that the producer was like a child and dependent on Joe.

"Mi nuh sign to Skatta. Joe always a tell me say him busy when mi link him. Unuh need fi tell Skatta fi go siddung cause the first time me go DSR a run dem a run Skatta and tek whe him bimma key and him a bawl and a me haffi beg fi him. Skatta need fi stop watch Joe pocket and make Joe focus on music." Khago said.

Regardless of what anybody has to say, both Khago and Downsound records appear to have issues working with people. Several artistes have severed ties with the record label in the past including Fantan Mojah, Nanko and now Khago.

Khago has done his fair share of skipping out of contracts. He ended relationships the Bankelous his former manager, Stashment Records and now Downsound Records.

Several vendors have also confirmed that the once vibrant market space is now a dilapidated structure that is being used to house animals. One person also said it's almost like an hotel based on the amount of persons that use the area as a sexual safe haven.

In addition to sex, several robberies are said to have taken place in the vicinity of the market. Some vendors even revealed that persons have gone as far as to live inside some of the empty rooms.

"It's the first I have ever heard about that. I have had regular meetings with the vendors and that was never disclosed. What I will do is launch an investigation. I am not aware but I will check on it nonetheless". The mayor of Maypen Mayor told the media in an interview.

Female Dancehall star Tifa reveals a sexy softer side with new single... 

Dancehall diva Tifa has revealed a sexy softer side of her persona with the release of the hot new track Inside Me. It is among three new singles burning up the airwaves in Jamaica and one which is sure to please her growing international fan base. 

Named the top female dancehall artiste three years in a row, Tifa's other new tracks include Taste Good and Hypocrite Smile.

In a recent interview, Tifa spoke about the new singles and the response from the general public.

'The feedback on all the songs has been great. We will be doing a couple of videos between those released and for some unreleased tracks from the upcoming album. It's going to be a scorching summer', Tifa pointed out.

Inside Me was produced by UIM Records. It is Tifa's second time working with the award winning label.

'The inspiration for Inside Me came from a past relationship and how our encounters made me feel', Tifa shared,

Previously she worked with UIM on the Fresh to Death remix featuring Keida, Natalie Storm, Timberlee, Stacious, and Tami Chynn.

Taste Good, according to Tifa wasn't directed at any one person. 'I'm a public figure so I'm always going to be at the helm of unnecessary criticism', Tifa explained.

Taste Good was produced by Washroom Entertainment.

The other track, Hypocrite Smile was produced by Wiletunes (Ward 21) and is featured on the Dandymite rhythm.

'Hypocrite Smile is coming from my heart and everyone can identify with this song, because we all have those experiences where friends will betray you. Even your own family will hurt you deeply. What I am talking about I've already gone through', Tifa confided.

Tifa recently partnered with Stewart Motors and is the brand ambassador for the company's MINI.

She is also a brand ambassador for Irish telecommunications giant Digicel and Jamaica's Bigga Soft Drink. She is a former brand ambassador for Neuvo.

Popcaan Disses Chronixx??

The buzz surrounding emerging Reggae sensation,Chronixx has been overwhelmingly positive since he burst onto the music scene in 2012. However, a new single by popular deejay, Popcaanhas brought forth a hint of controversy involving the young singer.

Popcaan recently released the preview for his new single, Killa From Mi Bawn, which is allegedly diss song aimed at former Portmore Empirecolleague, Black Ryno following their much talked about confrontation atSTING last December. However, a line in the Milla 9 produced song raised some eyebrows over the weekend as the Gaza deejay says, "Chu some pu$$y hear man seh di party buck dem tink seh we party nuff, Not even Selassie or Jesus cyah save dem when di bloodcl#@t 40 buss"

The line appeared to be a counteraction to Chronixx's hit single, Odd Rasin which he sings, "Say mi nah sing no song bout di party buck, Worst mi nah show mi under pants fi buss."

The preview has garnered over 5,000 views on YouTube, with some of the comments supporting Popcaan while some criticized it. One viewer asked,"Why him diss Chronixx; a very humble and spiritual yute?"

In the meantime, Black Ryno has released a preview off a diss song aimed at Popcaan, Dead Dem Ago Dead, which is also produced by Milla 9.
